Edison and Maria Gomes, founders and managing directors of Aruba Flower Fountain, opened their first retail store in October 1989 and successfully built their own network of floral and decoration services for locals and tourists on Aruba. In 1990 they opened the first flower shop in Aruba’s most prestigious shopping mall, now know as the Renaissance Market Place. Their immediate focus was to create a brand name built on trust, and over the next few years they achieved this through their understanding of their customer base and market. The next logical step was expansion, the Gomes’ successfully expanded their business into other retail access channels-going online in 1996 and opening a web site in 2000.
